Why hide your face behind a mask?
Is your truth too much to ask?
Is the pain there all too real
For anyone but you to feel?
Why do you hide behind your past?
Afraid the memories won’t last?
So that then you’ll have to ask
What’s really hidden behind the mask?
How horrible is your demeanor?
Could your aspect use a cleaner
Way of presentation?
Is that the cause of your frustration?
Outward spirals of apathy
Include your dire telepathy.
Don’t you care that you’re infecting
The ones you seek to be directing?
So why hide your face behind the mask
Show yourself while you perform the task
Of exposing your naked and vile aggression
To those who break under your oppression
It’s only fair that at the end
We get a chance to comprehend
In the seconds before we all expire
The harlequin stripped of it’s gay attire.
