Rise Up
My father is a veteran of World War II. He fought in Okinawa and Korea and then retired a Lt. Colonel from the United States Marines. He sacrificed and saw sacrifices made in defense of his country, then came home and worked fifty years to build a legacy for his children and his children’s children, so that we would not have to make the same kinds of sacrifices he made, work as long and as hard as he did, so that we could live as Americans, as indeed all people, were meant to live; in peace and liberty, able to follow the pursuits of our own happiness in a country free from tyranny. Now, as he approaches his ninetieth year, and he bears witness to the desecration of what he fought to maintain, my heart aches for him. To hear the sadness in his voice when he speaks of the direction our great country is headed, to see that sadness reflected in his eyes, is more than I can bear. So I speak out now, for my father, for the fathers of all Americans who fought and died for the sacred rights so many of us take for granted and who now must watch helplessly as the power brokers and bureaucrats barter away our sovereignty and our birthrights as American citizens.
I say it is time to rise up. We are slowly being ground under the boot heels of a socialist communist agenda set forth by our own elected leaders, subjected to the whims of a body not of the people, but who consider themselves above the people and by a leader who is no more and no less a socialist whose mentors and teachers, by his own admission, were lifelong communists. Barrack Obama is a figurehead for a Congress and a Senate that, with very few exceptions, is dedicated not to the good of the people, but rather to its own self preservation and aggrandizement, a body whose avarice is shameful and whose coffers overflow with the plundered wealth of the very people whose welfare they are sworn to protect. When Obama was elected, I tried to rationalize, to talk myself into believing that though I did not agree with him, he was my President and I would think first as an American, and hope for the best. But now, for the same reasons, because I am an American, I will not support him, because Americans shall not, must not, accept the communist agenda Mr. Obama and the like minded members of his regime would force on this country. It is a slap in the face to the patriots who shed their blood to free the United States from oppression and autocracy and I will have no part of it.
I tell you, before this experiment in social engineering is over, everything we hold dear as Americans, everything that has set us apart as the standard for democracy for over two hundred years, teeters on the brink of oblivion. It has already begun. The Obama administration and the Congress that supports it now control the banking industry, the automobile industry and with the recent passage of the so called “cap and trade” legislation, will tax the very air by levying huge taxes on carbon emissions, taxes that businesses, big and small alike must pay or face huge fines they will never be able to afford, all in the dubious name of a highly disputed and wholly unsubstantiated urban myth that despite the huge amounts of money that have been thrown at it fails to bear up under its own ponderous weight. The result will be that either these businesses will go under, or they will pass the costs of these new taxes on to the consumer at large. And where will the lion’s share of this money go? Into the pockets of the lobbyists Obama swore he would never have in his administration, many of whom who work for the very concerns that have perpetuated the puffery of the man-made global warming hobgoblin, despite the now over eighty thousand actual scientists who say that the hobgoblin has no teeth.
Add to the list the utopian fantasy of “universal” health care, again provided by the government. At a time when the nation’s economy is supposedly in “crisis”, our government would have us believe that creating yet another over inflated entitlement program greased by the sweat of the public brow is the answer, throwing good money after bad all under the guise of altruism and civic responsibility. Let me make this clear; America already has the best healthcare system in the world. We have the finest doctors, nurses and facilities available anywhere on the planet, which is why when people in Canada and Great Britain and other countries already under similar systems get sick and need healthcare, they come here. It’s quite simple; they want the best their money can buy. Also, nobody who goes to an emergency room in this country has ever been denied treatment-EVER. The only reason anyone ever died waiting in an emergency room is because it was over crowded with people who can’t afford insurance and have no other place to turn. And who, by the way, do you think will pay for this “free” healthcare? Why, the American taxpayer of course. Those who earn the most put the funds into the system so that those who contribute nothing can take advantage of a system that would already treat them for free anyway!
Next, let us extrapolate further by way of a hypothetical. During the last Presidential campaign, the far left repeatedly raised the specter of the “Fairness Doctrine” a socialist weapon trained on shutting out the voice of opposition on the public airwaves. Under the oxymoronic Fairness Doctrine, broadcast radio stations will be forced to air content that their listeners, by way of ratings, have shown they don’t want to hear. If they fail to comply, these stations will face ridiculous fines and ostensibly even revocation of their FCC licenses, leaving them no alternative but to either go out of business or switch their formats and pray their listeners stay with them. Free speech will become dependent on the whim of big brother, the likes or dislikes of the listeners will become irrelevant and the news you hear will be the news they want you to hear. The Fairness Doctrine has already been the law of the land more than once in our history and it is why the news media in this country is in the state it is in right now. Once it is reinstated, things will only get worse.
Taking our hypothetical a step further, Obama mentioned more than once during his campaign that he would like to install a federal police force, independent of state and local authority that would act under the auspices of the government and have jurisdiction in every state in the union. Sound familiar? The Germans had a similar police force during the Second World War. They called it the SS. Not soon after that would come the disarming of the populace and the repeal of the second amendment, taking away the ability of the people to bear arms and form militias. By then, we will have become Soviet Russia and it will be too late to do anything other than wonder how it all happened so quickly and right under our noses to boot.
Will we wait that long to draw the line? Will we wait until everything that makes us uniquely American is stripped away and we are as the Iranians are, unable to protest without fear of death? Or the Venezuelans, whose government spends their enormous oil wealth on the elites while their people wallow in poverty? Will we stand by while the greatest nation in the history of the world crumbles around us, cowering in the corner of our darkened houses waiting for the Federal Police to come and classify us and separate us so we cannot rise up against them? I for one would rather die in the street clutching my American flag in one hand and a rifle in other than to allow some jackbooted government thug to trample over my Constitutional rights.
But I tell you, it does not have to come to that. It does not have to happen that way. We can rise up now and cry out in a loud voice, ENOUGH! ENOUGH kowtowing to the hoodlums of the world! ENOUGH of Barrack Obama kissing the rings of and bowing down to every wild eyed half crazed dictator who rattles their saber, showing weakness and fealty to our enemies! We vote you OUT! We don’t want your New World Order! We don’t want your communism! We don’t need your socialism! We are Americans and we can stand on our own feet without you! We see you as you steal from us with one hand while the other hand pretends to comfort us as from the side of your mouth you tell us it is for our own good! We see through the sheep’s clothing to the wolves underneath! We aren’t blind, we aren’t stupid and we are stopping your insidious assault against our country, because we are Americans and by God we have had ENOUGH!
The time, people, is right now, today! Call your congressman or congresswoman and tell them ENOUGH! Call your senators and let them know that if they do not do as we say we will throw them out of office! Organize and march right up to the steps of the White House and demand to be heard! When it comes time to vote in 2010, go out and get as many people as you can, load them into cars and buses and take them to the polls and tell them to vote out these hyenas, these vultures, these parasites in the body of our country and take away their power to lie and steal while they smile their Cheshire grins and cry their crocodile tears.
And then, in 2012, unseat the usurper. Ride him out of Washington on a rail and send him back to where ever he came from, defeated and disgraced, because he does not have your interests at heart, he does not believe in the same American dream you and I believe in. He is a false prophet, a con man, a swindler and for the sake of your children’s children and the memories of our fathers before us, he must be defeated.
