≡ Get Shorty!
Diminutive Congressman Dennis Kucinich got up on his soap box yesterday, most likely on his tippy toes, peered over the top over the podium in front of his fellow Congress people and once again called for the impeachment of President George W. Bush, introducing no less than 35 articles of impeachment, including charges that the President intentionally misled the world concerning Saddam Hussein’s weapons programs and involved the country in a war “against” Iraq, completely disregarding the millions of Iraqi’s who can now vote, go to school, assemble and if they want to, protest without fear of being beheaded in the neighborhood soccer field. It’s the same old mantra, the same tired partisan rhetoric that Kucinich is known for and that has been the war cry for the liberal left since early in the Iraq war, when it was ostensibly “discovered” that there were no WMD in Iraq. “Bush lied, people died.” How nice.
Firstly, Dennis Kucinich is an ego-maniacal lilliputian whose political credentials are highly suspect. After being ousted as the Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, where he was so popular he found it necessary to wear a bullet proof vest at the end of his one and only term, Kucinich wandered through the political wilderness of ultra liberalism, somehow finally being elected Congressman for the 10th district of the state of Ohio in 1996 and then inserting himself into the national spotlight through two failed Presidential campaigns in’04 and ’08. Since then, we have learned through his pal and fellow kook Shirley McLain that Rep. Kucinich had a UFO encounter and that “Dennis found his encounter extremely moving”. So, while he is a United States Congressman and is due a modicum of respect, anything he says or does should always be taken with a heaping tablespoon of salt, including the ridiculous notion that President Bush deliberately misled the nation and duped us into a war that Kucinich claims is only a front for the benefit of the Presidents evil capitalist cronies.
Secondly, if you don’t believe Saddam Hussein had WMD, have a little chat with the families (or what remains of them) of the Kurds in northern Iraq who were burned to death by the non-existent chemical weapons Hussein used to punish them for siding with U.S. in the first Gulf War. If you believe that was all the WMD Hussein had, that he used them all on the Kurds and that he only kept the U.N. weapons inspectors out of Iraq during the run up to the present conflict just because he thought it would be really cool, not that he was funneling the weapons out of Iraq through and into Syria where they most likely still are, then you are drinking the liberal Kool Aid and nothing anybody could say, no matter how rational or logical will ever sway you. The facts are the facts. Hussein HAD the weapons, he USED the weapons and left to his own evil devices he would have USED THEM AGAIN, but George Bush stole the 2000 elections from Al Gore and therefore even if he defecated gold bricks and urinated pure crude oil, he will never be anything other than the bumbling idiot your news media say he is, so facts and logic no longer apply.
Whether you believe the war in Iraq was necessary or not, the fact is that dragging this impeachment through the House is unnecessary, foolish and a waste of the Congress’ time, especially while our troops will be the ones taking the brunt of the punishment and gas is four dollars a gallon and rising. Rep. Kucinich doesn’t care about that though. His only agenda is as it has always been; confrontation for the sake of confrontation with the end result being more camera time for him self in a Freudian attempt to compensate for his lack of gravitas. It is the equivalent of wearing platform shoes, vertical stripes and walking a chihuahua; he is a tiny man who must compensate for his tininess by creating the appearance of stature, a classic Napoleonic complex manifested in a United States Congressman and cloaked in the guise of patriotism. Perhaps one day the UFO will return, abduct Rep. Kucinich and relieve of us from the monotony of his catharsis.
